This is a very fair and very common question we get.  And it's not a simple question to answer.  We have spent a lot of time thinking and talking about this.


We understand that this is a Hawaiian tradition that many believe should not be "sold" by anyone, especially non-Hawaiians.  We hear and understand that.  


First, Dr. Hew Len, a native Hawaiian, believes that this is a practice that is not actually originally Hawaiian, nor does it belong to just one culture.  That is not a common belief.  In fact, some find it extremely insulting.  

However, the last part is the most important:
